Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Mixtable. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Mixtable is currently available in select cities in India. We may expand to additional regions at our discretion.

2. Description of Service

Mixtable curates personal, mystery-dining experiences where strangers are matched into small groups and brought together for a shared meal at a venue revealed shortly before the event.

Our Service includes:

• Event discovery and browsing
• Seat booking and payment processing
• AI-powered personality matching to curate compatible table groups
• Venue reveal notifications
• In-app group messaging between matched table companions

Mixtable acts as an organizer and facilitator. We are not a restaurant, food delivery service, or dating platform.

3. Accounts and Registration

To book events or access personalized features, you must create an account. Registration requires a valid Indian mobile number verified via OTP (One-Time Password). You may also sign in using Google or Apple through Firebase Authentication.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and current

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Bookings and Payments

4.1 Making a Booking

When you book a seat at a Mixtable event, you enter into a confirmed reservation subject to availability. Your booking is confirmed once payment is successfully processed (where applicable) or your seat is accepted by our team.

4.2 Pricing

Where an event charges a booking fee, it is listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and includes applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. The booking fee covers your seat and the matching of your table group only. Food and drinks are not included: you settle your own bill directly with the restaurant on the day. Mixtable may offer promotional pricing, early-bird rates, or free-seat offers at its discretion. Prices are subject to change without notice for future events.

4.3 Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel your booking anytime up to 24 hours before the event starts, from your bookings page.

• Booking fees are non-refundable once paid. This applies to every cancellation you make yourself, regardless of how far in advance you cancel. Cancelling still releases your seat and removes you from the table group.
• Within 24 hours of the event: Bookings and cancellations are closed, because your table has already been matched and the venue confirmed. If you cannot attend, please still let your group know through the app.
• No-shows: No refund is issued for failure to attend without prior cancellation.

Mixtable reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to low attendance, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control. If Mixtable cancels an event, your booking fee is refunded in full regardless of timing, including inside the 24-hour window.

4.4 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways. By making a payment, you agree to their respective terms and conditions. Mixtable does not store your payment card details.

5. AI Matching and Personality Quiz

Mixtable uses artificial intelligence (including third-party AI providers) to analyze responses from our optional Personality Quiz and generate personality summaries and group matches. This process is designed to curate compatible table companions.

By completing the quiz, you consent to your responses being processed by our AI systems for matching purposes. AI-generated personality summaries are for entertainment and facilitation purposes only and should not be interpreted as psychological assessments.

You may retake the quiz at any time. We do not guarantee specific matches or group compositions.

6. User Conduct

By using Mixtable, you agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Attend events under someone else's booking
• Harass, intimidate, or harm other users or event staff
• Record, photograph, or share other guests' personal information without consent
• Use the platform for commercial solicitation or spam
• Attempt to circumvent our matching, booking, or payment systems
• Engage in conduct that could damage Mixtable's reputation or operations

Mixtable reserves the right to remove users who violate these guidelines, with or without notice, and without obligation to issue a refund.

7. Venue and Event Experience

The specific venue for each event is kept confidential until approximately 24 hours before the event, or as determined by Mixtable at its sole discretion. The venue reveal is part of the core experience and is not grounds for cancellation or refund once revealed.

Mixtable partners with restaurants and venues but does not control their food quality, service, or operations. Feedback about venue experience may be shared with our partners for improvement.

8. Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive:

• Transactional messages (booking confirmations, OTPs, venue reveals) via SMS and WhatsApp
• Push notifications via our mobile application (where installed)
• Welcome messages and occasional promotional communications, including offers and coupons, by email and WhatsApp (you may opt out at any time)

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Mixtable platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of Mixtable or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Mixtable content without prior written consent.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Mixtable does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any event information, including but not limited to pricing, availability, or venue details.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mixtable and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
• Personal injury or property damage that occurs at or in connection with an event
• Loss of data, revenue, or goodwill
• Any third-party conduct at events

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mixtable, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Guwahati, Assam, India.

We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute informally before initiating legal proceedings.

14. Modifications

Mixtable reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via the platform or via registered contact details. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
